Huskies Finish 2024 at USCAA Nationals!
The Word of Life Huskies Cross-Country Teams wrapped up their 2024 season on Sunday at the USCAA National Championship meet. The Huskies made major strides in their 2nd season competing and made some noise among the schools they competed against.
On October 19th, the Huskies hosted their first-ever Cross-Country meet on the campus of the Word of Life Bible Institute. On the Women's side, Angelina Pusateri went on to win the women's 6k with a time of 23:37. On the Men's Side, Tyler Meyer won the Men's 8k with a time of 28:37. Both Word of Life Sophomores would be key contributors and leaders for the Cross-Country team.
On October 26th, the Huskies competed at the Yankee Small College Conference Championship meet at Hampshire College. The Huskies took 3rd place on the Women's side and Angelina Pusateri took 1st place overall with a time of 24:24 in the 6k race. Her teammates Marlene Bowers and Ariana Phillips took 16th and 18th place at the meet. In the Men's 8k race, Tyler Meyer and Dan Bubar took 6th and 7th place. And David Trimble rounded out the top 10 finishing in 10th place to help the Huskies secure 2nd place as a team at the YSCC Championships.
On November 10th, the Huskies traveled to Uniontown, PA for the USCAA National Championships. On the Women's side, Angelina Pusateri would go on to finish 6th overall, Ariana Phillips 40th, Marlene Bowers 45th, Holly Fields 59th, and Elora Kline 62nd to wrap up the season. The Huskies would place 6th on the Women's side.
On the Men's side, Dan Bubar would lead the Huskies placing 19th, Tyler Meyer 21st, David Trimble 32nd, Joshua Sepe 37th, Xavier Eugene 41st, Nehemiah Czelusniak 43rd, Jaden Maxwell 64th, and Daniel Javick finished 79th. The Huskies would go on to take 3rd place among the guys placing in the top 3 for the first time.
