Bio
Matt Layton was named Word of Life Huskies Athletic Director in 2020 and has helped bring success into Huskies athletics. Layton started on the coaching staff with being the Men's Basketball Assistant Coach under Bill Bowman from 2011-2016 before taking the Head Coach position for the Women's basketball team from 2016 until 2022.
Matt Layton spent his time as a student from the classes of '08 and '09 at Word of Life Bible Institute and then transferred to Liberty University Online while working on staff at Word of Life. Matt also graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Religion and his Master's degree in Sports Management from Liberty in 2023. Matt is married to his wife Gillian and has 3 children (Melody age 4, James age 2, & Emili who was born in January of 2024).
