Auburn, Maine – The Huskies continued their road trip by traveling to Maine for two games. On Saturday, they battled the Mustangs from Central Maine Community College. The lead went back and forth early in the first half until the Mustangs knocked down several threes to distance themselves from the Huskies and end the half on an 18-0 run. Freshman, Hayden Jordan led the Huskies with an impressive 23-point showing. Efraim Marvin finished with 12 points and Michael Weyand added 9 off the bench.
The Huskies looked to get back on track on Sunday as they took on University of Maine-Augusta. After trailing by four at halftime, the Huskies clamped down on defense holding UMA to just 23 points in the second half and 29.6% shooting from the field. The Huskies were able to capitalize on turnovers down the stretch and grabbed a lead with under three minutes remaining in the half. Efraim Marvin knocked down four crucial free throws and the Huskies grabbed a 71-66 win over UMA. Hayden Jordan continued his hot shooting and was the game's leading scorer with 22 points. The Huskies had two others score in double figures, Efraim Marvin (14) and Dan Morales (13).
The Huskies will look to keep the momentum as they host Paul Smith's College on Wednesday, January 22nd.
