Huskies play nearby T-Wolves

The Huskies traveled to nearby Queensbury to play a doubleheader against the SUNY Adirondack Timber Wolves on Tuesday afternoon. It was a well-attended game by fans supporting both the Huskies and the Timber Wolves.

Game 1 started off quickly with the Timber Wolves' 4-run 1st inning, using a pair of doubles to start the game. The Huskies started to claw back in the second with a bases-loaded double by Chloe Bethea that drove home all three runners (Kayli Hayden, Madeline Rodenberger, and Amanda Buck) to bring the score to 4-3. The Timber Wolves would extend their lead in the bottom half of the second to take a 10-3 lead. The Huskies tacked on another run in the third inning to make it 10-4. The Timber Wolves added 3 more in the bottom half of the third making it 13-4. The Huskies would add on 1 run in each of the 4th and 5th innings before the Timber Wolves scored a walk-off run in the 5th to take a 14-6 victory over the Huskies in Game 1.

In Game 2, the teams elected to flip the home and visitor sides of the game with the Timber Wolves taking at-bats first. The Timber Wolves started off quickly again scoring 3 runs in the first. The Huskies unfortunately started off with Timber Wolves Pitcher Sarah McCauliffe striking out the side. Madeline Rodenberger responded on the mound in the second and with the help from Alyssa Leipert and the rest of the defense which helped Rodenberger throw an 8-pitch inning. The Timber Wolves responded with 5 runs in the third inning, 1 in the fourth inning, and 5 more in the fifth inning to make it a 14-0 lead. The Huskies would fall by that score which completed the sweep by the Timber Wolves.

The Huskies' next games occur on Thursday afternoon starting at 3 pm and 5 pm at Columbia-Greene Community College.
